Diversity

Diversity: the condition of having or being composed of differing elements; the inclusion of different types of people in a group (Merriam-Webster Dictionary).

It’s so ironic how this concept contradicts itself. It encourages inclusion, but the definition itself recognizes the segregation of people. I think that the concept doesn’t tackle the root of the problem, in spite of its good intentions. Classifying people in boxes will inevitable have the consequence of discrimination. It’s funny how often you find people fighting for the rights of minorities, but at the same time discriminate the ones that think differently to them. How they say that we are all the same, but they call pigs the ones who don’t share their same morality.  Black, White, Gay, Women, Fat, Poor are just examples of people’s labels; but Racist, Pig, Corrupt, Arrogant, Intolerant, Criminal, etc. are also labels. They come from the same self-righteous mind-set of assigning the value of a person according to how they act or think. Of rejecting anyone who doesn’t agree with the same ideas, thinking that they deserve it. And as long as we keep on judging the value of a person on external factors there will always be discrimination.

The value of a person should reside in their personhood itself, not in their decisions, preferences, ideas or actions. Just look at an evident example, of how people are treated in jails, like if they weren’t persons of value anymore. Yes, it is true that they made bad decisions and that is why they ended up there in the first place, but taking away their dignity as a result of their actions is exactly the same thing as other minorities experience. We see many people marching for the rights of women, bullied children and different sexual orientations, but we don’t see anyone marching for the rights of drug addicts and corrupt politicians. I’m not saying that what they do is correct, but labelling them as “criminals” is putting yourself in the same selfish position of self-righteous, like if you were to judge their value as human beings. That is exactly the root of hate crimes.

So instead of hanging a rainbow flag to support the different classifications of people, I would rather hang a white flag to support the idea that there is no difference in people and we are equally valuable. Because in a world in which there are no labels there is no room for discrimination. I wonder, if people would stop looking at labels and start seeing everyone as human beings there would be more room for love, forgiveness and mutual support. Because the value of a human is of “human being”, not of “human doing”.

Tu deuda ha sido pagada

Lo que tú hiciste estuvo mal. Lo que viviste no fue lo mejor para ti. Tu corazón no tenía porque romperse. La culpa, la vergüenza y el dolor son el resultado de lo que pasó. No lo niego, más aún reconozco que no fue lo correcto.

Pero ahora me doy cuenta que ya no tengo porqué vivir en el pasado. Sí, estuvo mal; sí, lo justo es que el culpable pague. Pero ya vino alguien a pagar esa deuda para que tú no tuvieras que pagar ese precio tan caro, porque ese precio te iba a destruir. Porque lo que hiciste era tan malo que las consecuencias iban a destruirte, pero ese alguien ya fue destruido en tu lugar para que tú fueras libre.

Ahora puedes perdonar con la confianza de que ya se hizo justicia, y sabiendo que te espera un mejor futuro, un corazón restaurado y las consecuencias de una vida de rectitud - que alguien ya vivió por ti en tu lugar. Ese alguien vivió justo y murió para que su justicia viviera en ti, y se levantó para que tú supieras que después de la catástrofe hay un futuro mejor. La deuda que tenías por lo que hiciste ya fue pagada, para que tú no la tuvieras que pagar y vivieras un mejor futuro en su lugar.

LA COPA SE ENCUENTRA EN LA HISTORIA DE JOSÉ CUANDO SUS HERMANOS VAN POR LA HAMBRUNA.

LA COPA VACÍA SIGNIFICA PERDÓN Y REDENCIÓN. ¿QUÉ SIGNIFICA CUANDO ESTÁ LLENA?
LLENA DE LA IRA DE DIOS. POR ESO LA TOMÓ CRISTO.
AHÍ PERDIÓ SU IDENTIDAD DE HIJO DE DIOS, SU POSICIÓN.... PARA DÁRTELA A TI.
(COMO LA POSICIÓN QUE REGALARON ADAN Y EVA EN EL EDÉN)
LA SANTIDAD ES UNA CONSECUENCIA DE LO QUE CRISTO HIZO Y DE NUESTRA FE EN ESO. NO ES UN FRUTO DE TU ESFUERZO, NI LA JUSTICIA NI LA OBEDIENCIA. ESTAS LLEGAN COMO RESULTADO DE LA SANTIDAD, NO AL REVÉS.

ESTATE MÁS CONSCIENTE DE ESTE MANTO DE JUSTICIA QUE DE LOS PELIGROS DEL MUNDO.

AUNQUE EL MUNDO TE ATAQUE TU ESTÁS CUBIERTO BAJO EL MANTO DE DIOS, COMO UNA CAPA IMPERMEABLE. NO BUSQUES LAS REGLAS DEL HOMBRE, SINO LA VIDA QUE TE DA CRISTO.

AUNQUE LA VISIÓN TARDE, ESCRÍBELA PARA QUE LA PUEDAS CONSULTAR CONSTANTEMENTE.

JESÚS TE HA SALVADO.  ESA SALVACIÓN INCLUYE TU LIBERTAD, TU PROTECCIÓN, TU REDENCIÓN, CADA ASPECTO IMPORTANTE EN TU CORAZÓN. ES UNA SALVACIÓN TAN GRANDE QUE NINGÚN SER HUMANO HUBIERA PODIDO PAGARLA, POR ESO LA PAGÓ ÉL.

Una carta al lector

Hey, tú. Sí, tú. Tú, lector, yo sé que estás ahí aunque no respondas.

Solo quería asegurarme de que supieras que eres una persona SUMAMENTE VALIOSA. No importa lo que hagas, lo bien o mal que te portes, DIOS TE AMA, aunque no creas en Él, y yo también te amo. Te amo, pero no con ese amor egoísta y superficial que el mundo propone, sino con un amor fraternal sincero, que va más allá de algo físico o convencional. Te amo por ser la persona que eres, por ser esa persona que por azares del destino terminó leyendo esto. Te amo por el simple hecho de ser hijo o hija de Dios, aún si no compartes mi forma de pensar, mis creencias, mis actitudes. Te amo aunque no te conozco, y tal vez nunca te vaya a conocer, pero el hecho es que llegaste hasta aquí y no quiero que consideres esto como tiempo perdido.

Quiero que mires lo que tienes en tu vida, quiero que aprecies que estás aquí. Sin importar la adversidad, los problemas que tengas, ESTÁS VIVO, tienes el privilegio de respirar, de disfrutar las bellezas de la vida: la brisa en tu cara, el aroma de los árboles, la compañia de los que te reodean, la tranquilidad de la soledad, la armonía de la música, los hermosos atardeceres. Tienes todo un mundo a tu favor, que gira alrededor del sol para darte vida, para darte ese rayo de luz que ilumina tus días. ¿Y sabes qué? NO ESTÁS SOLO. Tienes a Dios. Y me tienes a mí, que aunque no te puedo ver estoy contigo.

Yo se que la vida puede ser dificil a veces, incluso llena de sufrimiento. Pero recuerda que la vida también es alegría. No te estoy diciendo que sea feliz todo el tiempo, sino que valores esos momentos en que una sonrisa sincera sale de tu corazón.

Para no hacer esta carta más larga, solo me resta una cosa más que decir: En donde quiera que estés, en la situación que te encuentres, si necesitas a alguien que te escuche en silencio, que te apoye sin juzgarte, que te limpie las lágrimas o simplemente que te diga un "te quiero", recuerda que aquí estoy yo para tí. Aún si jamás en la vida tienes contacto conmigo, recuerda siempre que TE QUIERO MUCHO, y lo digo enserio. Te mando un gran abrazo virtual, que tengas un buen día (o noche) :)
